Most designs can be completed in a matter of a few days - 10 at the outside. This allows time for the design and the stitching, as well as posting the card to you. It also allows time, should there need to be some changes to the planned design. Please give as much time as possible, however, as I am sometimes away, and you need to allow for making contact in the first place. It is best that you speak to me on the telephone for your first order (or speak to me in person if you are at an event where I am selling cards ). Once we have an understanding and you are happy with what I produce, I can take orders via the Internet through Email. I will need to have your telephone number, and an EMail address, as the design and stitching of unique cards may involve a change of plan if the chosen design proves impossible to stitch and I may need to get in touch quickly. Designs often contain many thousand stitches and not every design proves to work out (although there is seldom a problem). There will always be a solution to a difficult design, but it is best to discuss alternatives if the need should arise. If I am designing a card from scratch for you, I will always send you a picture of the completed design for checking, before I stitch it. Normally I will ask for payment in advance, but if I see you in person, this will be no problem. I can take payment via PayPal if you have a PayPal account - or I can invoice you with the cost through the PayPal system and you can pay the invoice by Credit or Debit card. You do not need a PayPal account to do this. I have not taken cheques since the cheque guarantee card system ended . There is no extra charge if you are able to collect from me ( Milton Keynes ) but cards dispatched by Royal Mail attract a minimum fee of £3.00 extra to cover first class mail to UK addresses and the protective envelope. I try to avoid increases in card costs and the last increase was over 3 years ago in August 2020. With further recent rises in all costs, I have had to review what I need to cover the design and stitching cost of cards as well as the ever rising cost of postages in 2023. There can often be substantial effort taken over reviewing possible designs and agreeing a final layout with a customer and I have now taken to agreeing a specific price with a client when the design is finally agreed. This extra charge on top of the figures quoted below will only arise when several designs have to be worked on to settle on a preferred layout. The figures quoted below are a guide only but will give you an idea what a card usually costs. From 1st JANUARY 2023 Cards are charged at a minimum of £ 12.00 each for large cards ( 15 cm x 21 cm ) and £ 10 each for small cards ( 15 cm x 10.5 cm ) The minimum £3.00 postage is extra to the card price This postage charge will be held for 2024 despite mailing costs rising again in April 2024 Multiple orders dispatched together can make a saving on postage costs. CARDS SOLD OUTSIDE THE UNITED KINGDOM Cards sold to residents of the UK are at the prices quoted above I will be happy to handle orders from European based buyers, but the costs will need to be checked out and quoted at the time, based on the current exchange rate for the Euro. European postal rates are also higher. PayPal is accepted, so exchange rates are not usually a problem. GUARANTEE I now make it a practice to send clients an advance Email with a print out of the card design so that it can be agreed before I stitch it. This has helped to eliminate queries after the card has been made. In the unlikely event that you are unhappy with any card I produce, I will make a full refund of the card cost once the card has been returned to me in good condition. I do not refund the P & P charges. In order to control Internet ‘Spam’, I give my Email address and telephone number below as a graphic to reduce the chance of it being picked up by unwanted salesmen (who will deluge me with messages about products I don’t need). There is also an ‘envelope’ link at the top of each of the site pages which opens up a direct Emailing form A small card (A6) will have a maximum stitched area approximately 10 cm x 7 cm A large card (A5) can have a stitched area up to 14 cm x 10 cm All cards are delivered with a standard greetings card envelope for your despatch and have a blank inside for your own personal message. BECAUSE OF THE HUGE NUMBER OF IMAGES THAT CAN BE USED TO MAKE UP THE DESIGN OF YOUR CARD, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE THE SHOW YOU ALL THE ALTERNATIVES ON THIS SITE. On the design pages, I show a selection of cards that have been made for my customers over the last few years. Many regular customers just give me an idea of the topic and colour scheme, give me the wording, and leave the choice of design to me. This is something that comes with time and confidence, and you will probably want to discuss the full details for your first order. Remember that each card is designed as a fresh project, so what you see on these pages should be treated as just an example of what can be done. This does not mean that a design can only be used in the way shown. Any design can be used for any suitable card There are a whole range of images shown in the pages connected to this section and this may give you some ideas. Most are grouped so that you can find the style of image which may suit your need. Some are shown as large designs……….. These are stitched with room for your choice of words within the card aperture. A few are small designs …. these are a much smaller card and therefore often have just a simple message below the aperture. Large designs open up a wide variety of options, and you are not restricted to just the cards on show here. These cards are displayed so that you can see what is possible and a card can be designed just for you ….. though if the design process takes a long time, it may be necessary to add a little to the quoted cost. The designs shown on the following pages are merely a few of the many designs prepared for customers over the past few years. Cards can be made from any of the thousands of designs we hold for sewing on the dedicated sewing machine. Text can be to suit the customer’s needs. Colours can be chosen to suit the individual We recommend that you speak to Audrey when you order for the first time so that she can be sure that she understands what you are looking for.
